Rugged Luxury with Power Under the Hood
The 2021 RAM 1500 continues its award-winning ways by continuing the tradition of incorporating high-end interior features with powerful engine production. RAM offers several trims, but the most exciting news for 2021 is the TRX, which adds a whole new level of speed and performance to the 2021 RAM 1500 lineup.
RAM 1500 designers continue to prove they know what truck buyers want – performance, towing capability, safety, and quality. At Spitzer Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Homestead, we’d love to show you all the 2021 RAM 1500 has to offer. We’re sure you’ll become a believer.
Top-Notch Standards on a Light-Duty Pickup
The standard features of the 2021 RAM 1500 aim to please. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that delivers 305 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque. All RAM 1500 trucks come with an eight-speed transmission with smooth shifting and standard rear-wheel drive. The 3.6-liter V6 will tow a lightweight trailer up to 7730 pounds.
EPA-estimated fuel economy on the V6 with rear-wheel drive is 20 MPG city and 25 MPG highway. Adding optional 4-wheel drive knocks one MPG off of the EPA-estimated fuel rating.
Increasing Performance with Upgraded Engines
Buyers who want a little more under the hood have several upgraded engine options. The Chrysler, Dodge, and RAM lineups are known for the powerful HEMI® engine, which is a popular choice for the RAM 1500. You can choose to add a 5.7-liter HEMI® V8 and up the horsepower to 395 with 410 pound-feet of torque.
The other option is a 3.0-liter V6 diesel, with 260 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. The V6 diesel lets you tow up to 12,560 pounds. If you prefer to add more torque to the 5.7L HEMI® V8, the eTorque hybrid system enables you to tow up to 12,750 pounds compared to 11,610 without eTorque.
The EPA-estimated gas mileage for the 5.8-liter HEMI® is between 15 and 17 MPG city and 21 and 23 MPG highway depending on available eTorque and drivetrain choices. The diesel V6 gets an EPA-estimated gas mileage of 21 or 22 MPG city and 29 or 32 MPG highway based on the drivetrain.

This new addition to the lineup comes standard with a 6.2-liter HEMI® supercharged V8 with 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. When it comes to light-duty trucks, this is the fastest model on the market. It goes from zero to 60 MPH in 4.5 seconds. Despite the highest torque of the RAM 1500 models, the TRX has a towing capacity of 8,100 pounds.
